Mbi Medical are pleased to be working with Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council who are on the lookout for a Social Worker on a locum basis.

This is a Locum post for an experienced social worker to work partly from home and partly from office. They need to be based locally enough to office to be able to travel to the office, particular within heavier summer traffic to BCP area. Candidate need to have a suitable level of experience and knowledge of "Adults" with mental disorder, this does not mean specifically to older persons or working in a general hospital please or predominantly within children's services.

Safeguarding, ideally trained as an investigator or with a high level of SG experience. Experience in completing Mental capacity assessments,  understanding DoLS and BI decisions, attending and contributing and arranging meetings, supporting with care and support within areas of accommodation, packages of care such as home care and supported accommodation, working with more complex cases, managing higher levels of risk effectively, completing detailed and robust care act assessments, care and support plans and reviews, being able to effectively navigate and learn new computer systems, these in team are RIO and Mosaic. Being able to record efficiently case notes, respond to emails and manage own time , working as part of a team and . Risk assessment is essential of higher levels of risk management, under pressure, competing demands and multi disciplinary meetings 

Candidate Profile:

- Social work experience in local government, voluntary or independent sector.

- Direct experience of working with relevant client groups, especially those from different racial & cultural backgrounds.

- Ability to initiate, draft & produce reports.

- Ability to deal with / record casework, communicate effectively  with client groups & professionals in order to assess client needs. 

- Ability to attend & organise case conferences & reviews for the purpose of assessing & monitoring the development of service users.

- Ability to develop person-centred care plans.

- Ability to deal with conflict and complaints.

- Ability to participate within a duty team framework. 

- Knowledge of relevant statutory social work legislation.

- Knowledge of the issues relating to the well-being of service users covering a wide range of clients.

- Must be registered with the GSCC.
